Eminem Provides Theme Song For UFC 257

Conor McGregor, Dustin Poirier

Eminem’s new song “Higher” is being used to promote McGregor vs Poirier 2 which goes down on January 23rd on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi. The song was featured in the new UFC trailer posted on Wednesday by the Detroit legend. This collab further proves that the MMA giant continues to grow to new levels.

UFC Will Once Again Raise PPV Price Starting With UFC 257

UFC 257 McGregor vs Poirier 2 will kick off a new price hike for MMA fans looking to purchase Pay Per View events in 2021. The organization plans to raise their PPV price by $5 from $64.99 to $69.99 to reflect the old fee before the ESPN deal. According to Variety MMA fans can buy a one year’s subscription of ESPN+ and the UFC 257 PPV for $84.98. Although that is a great deal, how many more price hikes can MMA fans expect? Sure, it’s only a $5 price hike, but I really hope this doesn’t become a yearly thing.

UFC 246 in January 2020 was the first instance where the organization raised prices from $59.99 to $64.99. If McGregor is going to be the reason for the constant price hike then I can honestly do without him being on cards. I know this might be a shock to some, but there’s other fighters on the UFC roster other than McGregor. I get it, he’s a superstar in the MMA world. The UFC actually pulled a brilliant move by increasing the price with Conor on the card. Moving forward though will the PPV numbers stay the same or go up with the price increase? I guess only time will tell…
