Alex Pereira Moves Up! Fights To Make After UFC 287

83

UFC 287 took place in Miami last weekend and was headlined by Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira. Middleweight Israel Adesanya knocked out Pereira in the second round to become the undisputed champion.

Following his loss, Pereira posted a video on his YouTube channel to officially announce that he would be moving up a weight class. Now the main question is: with whom will Adesanya and Pereira be fighting in the future?

Potential Fights (Alex Pereira)

Alex Pereira vs Jamahal Hill

A potential fight against the light heavyweight champion is possible for Pereira. Jamahal Hill recently defeated Pereira’s training partner and close friend, Glover Teixeira. Also, both Pereira and Hill are knockout artists, so the build-up could bring many eyes to the card.

Alex Pereira vs Jiri Prochazka

A potential bout against the former light heavyweight champion is also really possible. Jiri Prochazka has been out with a shoulder injury and has not fought since June 2022. Furthermore, both fighters have a similar style with great kickboxing and unbelievable power. This might be Pereira’s best matchup since the other fighters at 205 are wrestle-heavy.

Potential Fight (Israel Adesanya)

Israel Adesanya vs Robert Whittaker 3

As of now, Robert Whittaker vs. Israel Adesanya is the only fight that makes sense. Israel Adesanya has already defeated the top five fighters in his weight class, and nobody else has proven themselves worthy. On the other hand, Robert Whittaker has proved he is the best contender in his division after his dominant performance versus Marvin Vettori. The trilogy between these two is bound to happen, and it could be the fight to end their rivalry.
