Buckley Pulls Off Possibly The Greatest KO In MMA History

Joaquin Buckley not only bounced back from his loss in August to Kevin Holland on Saturday, but he pulled off one of the most spectacular knockouts in MMA history. Buckley came into his fight against Impa Kasanganay as a +195 underdog, but clearly betting lines don’t mean anything when it comes to the UFC.

THE MOST UNBELIEVABLE KO IN UFC HISTORY – @UFC

When it comes to the most spectacular finish of 2020, this is it. Sure, Sugar Sean O’Malley’s walk off KO against Eddie Wineland was pretty impressive. , Cody Garbrandt demolishing Raphael Assunção with one second left in the round was insane. Buckley’s KO was on another level though. Buckely stated in the post fight press conference that he had been practicing the finishing move all the time in the gym…

It was just open. I seen that he still had my legs. I was still able to balance with him grabbing my foot, so I just spun and kicked. I aimed and I fire and it got the result we needed. I train it all the time, the only thing that was different was him holding my leg, but I practice it all the time.

The spinning back kick victory earned Buckley a highlight reel finish against a previously undefeated fighter. It also earned him a $50,000 UFC bonus…

Regardless of what is next for Buckley, the UFC newcomer is a powerhouse that needs to be shown respect. Sure, his loss against Holland was disappointing, but it was his first loss in the UFC. Buckley’s KO finish on Saturday should earn him another fight soon. Since he’s on Fight Island already just book him on the next card and let the knocks out roll! I know the possibility of that happening ins slim to none considering the matches are already booked through October, but a man can dream.
