Cerrone Shuts Down Retirement Talk

Ahead of his highly anticipated fight against Niko Price, Donald Cowboy Cerrone is making it clear he’s not going anywhere anytime soon. The 36-15 fighter is currently on a 4-fight losing streak but says he plans on being in the UFC for a long time.

“I would like to say yeah the UFC will keep me forever, but also on the same breath, how many I don’t even want to think about losing again because it could happen. I’ve trained my ass off, I’m ready to rock and roll. I’m planning on being here for a long time. I’m going to leave when I’m done. I don’t ever want the walking papers. When ‘Cowboy’s’ done fighting, I’m going to bend my hat and I’m going to say, ‘All right boys, I’ve had enough. I’m out.’ I don’t ever want to have them call my manger and release me, that would totally suck. I’m going to keep fighting my ass off.”

Cowboy’s latest loss happened in January after suffering a 40 second knockout from Conor McGregor. Cerrone says this time though things or different and he fell in love with fighting again after this latest training camp. Regardless of how you feel about Cowboy, the man comes to fight every single time. He is the definition of an anytime anywhere fighter and always leaves it all in the octagon. I don’t want to see Cowboy retire, but this is a much needed win for Cerrone against a top contender. Niko Price is 14-4 with 10 knockouts to his name, so this fight is guaranteed to be a brawl.
