Boon’s CFB Best Bets: Week 13 Rivalry Edition

Rivalry week is here. But, we are sadly at the end of the regular season in College Football. This season of CFB has gone by so fast but we are realistically just getting started. With bowl games and the College Football playoffs to still be played, we still have a few months to go. We need to make these last games count and head into bowl season on the positive side. Last week, for the second week in a row we ended with a 3-5 record. I only have 6-7 plays for todays slate but love some dawgs today.

This is the best Saturday of College Football. Rivalry weekend is like no other weekend. You get all of the in state rivalries, the Iron Bowl, the Egg bowl, and THE Game with Michigan vs. Ohio State. On top of all of the rivalry games going on, we still have the CFB playoff story lines starting to work themselves out. Left in the the talks to get into the playoffs, you have Michigan and Ohio State fighting for a spot. You have USC looking to get a huge win vs. #15 Notre Dame and then TCU looking to cap off an undefeated regular season vs. Iowa State. Any thing can happen on this Saturday, and that is why it is one of the toughest gambling days of the year. Let’s cash tickets and find winners.

As always, below is the list of different picks I have. If you want winners, come back here every Saturday morning before you click submit on all of your CFB bets. I will dive into all the trends, data, stats, and matchups, so you don’t have to. Here we go. As always, bet responsibly and let’s have a day. Here are my Week 13 best bets:

Overall Record: 48-47-1

Last Week: 3-5

Boon’s Best Bet of Week 13: #3 Michigan @ #2 Ohio State 12:00pm

Bet: #3 Michigan +8

The Game. The biggest game on the whole slate and one of the biggest rivalries in all of sports. A top 5 matchup to decide who heads to the BIG Ten championship and most likely the College football playoffs. Earlier in the season the books had this game sitting at around 14.5 and since then it is now moved to 8 points. The big question heading into this game is obviously whether or not Blake Corum will be healthy and playing. Either way, I still love the play here with Michigan +8. Both of these teams have had a pretty easy route throughout the season to get to 11-0 and this game is both of the teams biggest challenge. I believe the Michigan defense is going to give Ohio State trouble throughout the whole game and keep Michigan in the game for a full 60 minutes.

Best Bets Dawg of the Week/Upset: #15 Notre Dame @ #6 USC  7:30pm

Bet: Notre Dame +4.5/+145 ML

Week #2 of fading USC. All season long, I have been one of the biggest supporters of this USC team with Caleb Williams. With that being said, they have shown me some games that gave me doubts on how elite they can actually be. This offense is going to always put up points and play at a high level. But running into a team and a defense like Notre Dame might give them some trouble. Notre Dame did start the season off rough, but they have bounced back in a big way winning 8 of there last 9 games after starting 0-2. Just a few weeks ago they dropped off #4 Clemson to push them out of the CFB playoff conversation. Look for them to do a similar thing to USC tonight.

Overs Play of The Week: UAB @ Louisiana Tech  3:30pm

Bet: Over 56.5

This is just one of those random games and bets that I love that I felt I needed to share. Both of these team are averaging just around 30 PPG. LA tech on the other side of the ball is giving up 38 PPG as well. Both of these teams are going to look to put up a ton of points and turn this game into a shootout. Don’t be surprised to see UAB put up over 45 points and LA Tech give us at least two touchdowns.

Under Play of The Week: #25 Louisville @ Kentucky  3:00pm

Bet: Under 43.5

This will be one of the better games on the slate today, but the smartest play in this game is the under. Kentucky has been the best under team in football so far this season with going 10-1 on the under all year. Louisville also is in a similar boat to where they have only hit there over 4 times all year. This is going to be a HUGE defensive game played on the ground. Both of these teams are giving up under 20 PPG all season. No need to tune into this game, but just know it will go under.

Super Conference Play: Auburn @ #7 Alabama  3:30pm

Bet: Auburn +23

The Iron Bowl. Outside of the Ohio State vs. Michigan game every year, this may be the second best rivalry game on the schedule. Even with Auburn struggling this season I do think they will find a way to keep this close. 22 points in the Iron bowl just seems like way to many points, especially for what you can argue is one of the worst Alabama teams we have seen in the CFB playoff era. We all want to see chaos in the iron bowl and I think we will see that with Auburn.

Final Week 13 CFB Best Bets Bonus Play: Kansas @ 12 Kansas State 8:00pm

Bet: #12 Kansas State -11

I couldn’t go through a whole rivalry weekend card with out adding in a pick in the Kansas vs. Kansas State game. In week 5, when Kansas was sitting at 5-0, we all were having conversation about them being that team in the BIG 12. Since then, they have lost 5 of there last 6 games by an average of 17 PPG. On the other side, Kansas State is sitting with an 8-3 record looking to make that one more. Will Howard has come in a few weeks ago and has been playing great and is leading this offense to a few HUGE wins the last 4 weeks. At home, I love Kansas State to blowout Kansas and end the season off strong.
