While the MMA world is praying that the UFC doesn’t feed Demian Maia to Khamzat Chimaev, Stephen Wonderboy Thompson is now the new target fight for Chimaev. Chimaev decided to play future matchmaker and call out Thompson after Wonderboy pulled off the nicest callout in MMA history by asking for a fight with Leon Edwards. 2020 is strange as it is, but Wonderboy calling someone out?! NOTHING is off limits in 2020.
When it comes to new prospects in the UFC no one competes with the Chimaev hype train. I know, this is just another article about Chimaev and I’m once again kissing his ass. Listen, when you fight 3 times in 66 days and adsorb a total of TWO strikes in those fights I’m going to talk about you. The man is a freak of nature and deserves a legit top 10 competitor, not someone like Maia who is at the tail end of his career. Chimaev vs Thompson would be a true test of Khamzat’s skills considering Thompson stays on the outside and uses his karate to keep his opponent at a distance. Lets hope this fight happens!
