This week, we have the great American race, the Daytona 500, one of the toughest races in the world to bet on. Every year the Daytona 500 is wide open. Whether it’s a star racer in a top-5 position, or a less familiar driver starting near the back, the race is up in the air. Winning the Daytona 500 is almost like winning the Super Bowl in NASCAR. It’s a race where many of the greats say they would do anything to get a win at the Daytona 500, but most have failed to reach the podium.

With unpredictable action occurring throughout the race, it’s difficult to bet on who is going to make it the whole race without being involved in an accident. As the race reaches the final laps, drivers begin to make their final moves to the front and things will get a lot more tense. That’s when the “Big One” happens. If not for legendary baseball player, Frank Thomas, this moment would probably be donned the “Big Hurt.” When drivers up their risk tolerance, the chances of a massive crash increase. One can only hope that the drivers you bet on makes it through the big crash.
