Right now we don’t even know if Jamaal Williams will play for the Detroit Lions next year. But one fan will have Swaggy with him for life!
I consider myself to be a pretty die hard Detroit Sports Fan. Some of my earliest memories are of the Bad Boy Pistons winning NBA Championships, in high school the Red Wings became a dominate franchise, I’ve even been to a World Series game at Comerica Park. But never have I considered getting a players face tattooed on me!
Enter Elliot Jones. While scrolling on Facebook over the weekend I came across his post on the “Detroit Lions Fans” page. And there it was. Jamaal Williams smiling face. One pic was a screen shot from his introduction on Sunday Night Football. The other was a finished tattoo of the exact same pic!
I’m not sure who the tattoo artist is, I would have loved to give him credit for his work.
If you missed his intro on SNF, Jamaal Williams gave love to Anime. It immediately went viral and Jamaal became a fan favorite to a lot of people. No one more so than Mr. Elliot Jones.

As lovable as Jamaal Williams is, I still do not see myself ever getting a player tattooed on me. And just for reference I have my cat on my forearm, so I am not void of tattoos people think are weird.
As much of a Detroit Sports Fan I think I am, I don’t hold a candle to the folks that get their favorite player or team logo on them. I will root for the team. I will celebrate when they win. But I don’t think I’ll ever have that level of dedication.
For Elliot’s sake and the Lions sake, I hope Jamall Williams stays in Detroit. He has hinted he wants to. Now its on Brad Holmes and Sheila Hamp to make it happen! No matter where Williams winds up he will have Elliot as a fan for life.
