Fantasy Football Waiver Pick Ups Week 10

39

Fantasy Football Week 10 is here! The playoffs are just around the corner now is the time to grab the guys that will help your Fantasy Squad win it all!

Finally, a week of fantasy football not dominated by injuries! Instead, we saw some unlikely role players step into larger roles in Week 10. Throw in some new QB’s, their new preferred targets, and you’re left with a solid group of targets on your waiver wire this week.

QUARTERBACKS

Tua Tagovailoa

Tua was left on waiver wires as before, as well as sent quickly back to them after his Miami Debut. Less than 100 passing yards and 1 touchdown left a sour taste in his owner’s mouths.  His second start left something a little sweeter… 248/2/0 with 35 yards on the ground. Miami is for real. Their Quarterback looks like he might be as well.

Jake Luton

Oregon St rookie Jake Luton got his first NFL start on Sunday, filling in for Gardner Minshew. He responded by posting 300+ passing yards with a TD through the air and another on the ground. More importantly, the Jaguars offense seemed to find its groove with the rookie under center. He could be sneaky good if he takes the job completely.

Last Week’s Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Picks…. BANG! 34 and 27 pts…hope you scooped ’em!
Drew Locke 313/2/1 and another 47/1 on the ground.   A+ Cam Newton 274/0/0 and another 16/2 on the ground   A

RUNNING BACKS

Duke Johnson

The Texans will turn to the Duke if the other Johnson, David, misses time due to the NFL’s concussion protocol. Even if you only get 1 start out of him, it will be worth it. All the 3rd down work is pretty much his already…with the early downs going his way now as well. Duke is an RB2 across the board. And a league winner if anything happens to David Johnson long term

Justin Jackson/Josh Kelley

I was gonna go with Kalen Ballage here after he led the team in rushing on Sunday, but he was sent back down to the Practice Squad yesterday. Justin Jackson is the guy right now in LA, but he got banged up early in week 9. Kelly led the team in snaps, while Ballage led the team in touches with Jackson out. Kelley is a speculative add I’ll admit, but the upside is huge once he gets his chance.

Last Week’s Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Picks…. Great 2nd half of the season guys it looks like. Don’t let one week fool you.

WIDE RECEIVERS

Jakobi Meyers

Before you run to grab this guy, let me remind you who he plays for…Bill Belichek. That means despite catching 12 of 14 targets for 169 yards on Monday Night Football, we could see Meyers only get 1 target next week. That’s just how it works for Patriots wideouts unless your name is Julien Edelman. Buyer Beware…but it’s hard to ignore 14 targets.

Richie James/Brandon Aiyuk

I talked about Richie James on the Sunday Lions Pregame show and he certainly came through for me. Congrats to any of you that picked him up and started him…even in daily fantasy leagues. He went for 9/184/1…crazy. I loved this kid coming out of Middle Tennessee State and it was awesome to see him get an opportunity finally. That being said, lots of SF receivers are on the mend and will be returning soon, most importantly Brandon Aiyuk. If someone waived him in your league, he should be your #1 waiver priority of week 10. Richie James should only be added with an understanding of this.

TIGHT END

Tyler Eiffert – JAC

Both Tight Ends this week are guys that aren’t getting more snaps…they’re getting more looks because of QB changes. Eiffert seemed to be a preferred option for Luton on Sunday. If you’re desperate for a Tight End, and I know you are, Eiffert is trending the right way.

Dalton Schultz – DAL

Schultz has a new QB, so he makes my list two weeks in a row. (And there just ain’t shit for tight ends in 2020) Garrett Gilbert took over under center in Dallas in week 9 and looked Schultz’s way 7 times to the tune of 4/48. Another positive trending tight end if you’re in need of one, Schultz does have plenty of competition for targets on a bottom 10 offense, so don’t get too excited
