Cody Garbrandt Is Still Suffering Symptoms Two Months After Testing Positive For COVID 19

Former UFC Bantamweight champ Cody Garbrandt is still recovering from COVID 19 two months after testing positive for the virus. Garbrandt tested positive for COVID in September. No Love was forced to pull out of his title fight against Flyweight champ Deiveson Figueiredo. Figueiredo instead faced Alex Perez at UFC 255 and submitted him in the first round.

During a recent interview with Brett Okamoto from ESPN, Garbrandt stated that he suffered a torn vein in his bicep due to COVID 19. Physicians confirmed with Cody that the COVID virus thickens a patient’s blood which would’ve attributed to the torn bicep. Garbrandt also suffered from vertigo, body aches and fatigue. Cody is still on medication for blood clots as well but says his condition has improved. Garbrandt still has plans to fight Figueiredo on March 6th. No Love has never dropped down to the Flyweight mark, but currently weights around 143lbs so the cut shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

“I just think he (Figueiredo)smashes everyone in this division other than me. These guys sit there in front of him, and that’s where he throws bombs. I move too much. I’m too quick. I’m in and out. These fighters don’t know how to fight backwards. Pressure is all they know. My game plan will be how I fought Dominick Cruz when he won the title in 2017.
