Veteran interior offensive lineman Graham Glasgow is returning to the Detroit Lions. After losing Glasgow in free agency three years ago, the Lions intend to bring him back on a one-year deal worth up to $4.5MM. Adam Schefter of ESPN.com tweeted the news of Glasgow’s signing with his former team on Thursday.

The Lions originally drafted Glasgow in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft. However, they lost him to the Denver Broncos in 2020 after he signed a four-year, $44MM deal. The Broncos released Glasgow last week, which made him a free agent.

Glasgow’s Career Highlights

After spending his first four years in the NFL with the Detroit Lions, Glasgow signed with the Broncos in 2020. He started 33 games between 2020-2022, playing both guard and center. Glasgow has played in a total of 95 games and started 86 of them throughout his career.

Broncos release Graham Glasgow

The Denver Broncos made three roster moves last week that saved them over $26.5 million in salary cap space. One of those moves was releasing veteran offensive lineman Graham Glasgow. He was set to earn $14 million in 2023 before being cut.

Glasgow’s response to the news was delayed, but gracious. The 30-year-old lineman waited two days before posting a message on social media, thanking the Broncos, his teammates, and the city of Denver for the past three seasons. Although he was disappointed in how things ended, Glasgow said he was grateful for his time in Denver and excited about what’s to come next.

Looking Forward

Denver is expected to make multiple additions to their offensive line this offseason. Broncos Wire is tracking all of the team’s free agency moves. Meanwhile, the Lions are happy to welcome back a proven veteran who knows their playbook and can help anchor their offensive line. Glasgow’s return to Detroit will be a welcome addition for the team as they prepare for the upcoming NFL season.
