The Detroit Red Wings received a major blow to their lineup after forward Michael Rasmussen suffered a knee injury in Saturday’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Rasmussen was hit by a puck and the extent of his injury is currently unknown, but head coach Derek Lalonde confirmed that he will be out indefinitely.
This loss is a significant one for the Red Wings as they make their push towards the playoffs. Rasmussen has been a key player for Detroit, earning high praise from his teammates and even receiving requests from multiple players to be his line mate. The Red Wings will have to find a way to cope without him in the lineup.

How Will This Affect the Red Wings’ Lineup?
Detroit has already had tons of tough decisions to make heading into the trade deadline. Deciphering who should be plugged into the lineup is going to be tough ad depth becomes a factor.
Given the significant loss of Rasmussen, can we anticipate Yzerman to acquire new players and enhance our forward group? Lucas Raymond and Jakub Vrana should both be available against Ottawa. Could this series against the Senators determine if Detroit will be buyers or sellers come deadline?
