Dana White revealed in a recent interview that if there is one fight he wants to make in 2021 its Jones vs Adesanya.

2020 was a phenomenal year for the UFC. Although the organization went without gate money for most of the year, the UFC has really proved there’s levels to the fight game. The UFC put together so many stacked cards in 2020 and from the looks of 2021 will be just as good. Dana White recently made it clear what the plans are when it comes to one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time, Jon Jones.

“Jones Is Ready To Come Back. He’s In A Really Good Place.” – Dana White

The last time Jon Jones was in the octagon was at UFC 247 in February 2020. Jones defended the LHW title and beat Dominick Reyes via Unanimous Decision. Since the UFC 247 title fight MMA have been wondering when Bones will return. Bones gave up the LHW title in August 202 and announced he will be moving up to the Heavyweight division. Although Jones wants to move up Dana White stated in a recent interview that Jones vs Adesanya is the fight to make in 2021…

“Jon Jones and I had the best conversation we’ve ever had about a week ago, and he’s ready. He’s ready to come back. His head’s in the right place, and he and I are in a really good place. Somebody asked me yesterday, ‘If you could make one fight in 2021, what would it be?’ That’s the fight (Jones vs Adesanya). That’s my pick.”

White also stated that Adesanya vs Light Heavyweight champ Jan Blachowicz is another interesting fight he would like to make. Although it isn’t clear what the current plan is for the LHW division, it seems Jones vs Adesanya is the super fight the UFC wants in 2021. I think Adesanya vs Blachowicz will fight in Spring 2020 while the UFC comes up with a concrete plan for Jones for Summer 2021. The talks of Bones moving up to Heavyweight are still ongoing too with rumors of Jones facing the winner of Stipe Miocic vs Francis Ngannou 2. Either way, it looks like Jon will be coming back in 2021 and he has plenty of options on the table.
