After reports surfaced over that Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions agreed to part ways, he officially placed his Bloomfield Hills mansion up for sale.
According to a listing on Zillow, the price is a hefty $6.5 million.
The two-story luxurious estate sits on 1.27 acres with five bedrooms and seven bathrooms. There’s also a finished basement, spa, waterfront view, and so much more. It even includes a glass elevator.
Stafford shook up the Motor City, requesting a trade from the Lions after 12 seasons with the organization. As the Lions’ quarterback, Stafford threw for 45,109 yards and 282 touchdowns. He is the fastest player in NFL history to reach 45,000 passing yards (165 games).
While Matthew Stafford isn’t active on social media, his wife Kelly took to Instagram to thank Detroit’s city.
“Whenever I figure out what the future holds, you’ll be hearing from me again with a thank you that hopefully shows how much gratitude and love I have for this place,” she said. “But until then, we are going to enjoy our time left in Michigan to the fullest because there really is no other place like it.
There are reports that the Lions have begun fielding trade offers for Stafford’s services.
Some of the teams interested in acquiring the former Pro-Bowler are the 49ers, Saints, Colts, and Patriots. The Lions will have a $33 million cap hit by trading or releasing Stafford. Despite that, they’ll trim around $14 million off the cap space.
After the Lions hired new-GM Brad Holmes, and head coach Dan Campbell, the decision to trade Stafford was under way.
