Nick Diaz hasn’t fought in the UFC since his bout with Anderson Silva in January 2015. According to his manager though that is all about to change.
The 209 Gangster is one of the most entertaining fighters in MMA history. Both Diaz brothers have built a reputation of putting on a show every time they enter the cage, but Nick Diaz has been out of the spotlight for 5+ years now. Over the past couple of months Nick Diaz’s manager Kevin Mubenga has hinted at a UFC return for Nick, but now thanks to a recent interview with Fanatics View we have a little more insight on the possibility of it actually happening…
Yeah, the guy has been training. He’s been training for at least four months now straight. … Now, we’re in December, we’re what? Four months or five months in now? He took a little break last month and now we’re going to pick it back up in December and go into the new year hopefully with a new deal done. We’ll make sure the money is right and the opponent is right and we’ll be able to move forward with all of this. We just got to get everything else right with the organization and everything. We’ll be able to move forward. He’s been training. People want to see that. Well, he’s been training as you can see for the last few several months. He took a little break now. Now, it’s time to get back on there and just go through it. You don’t want to over-train and over-exhaust yourself, especially when you don’t have a date yet. But it was good to be able to go through the regimen and go through that small camp there to kind of feel everything out and get back with everyone like trainer Cesar Gracie.

Nick Diaz’s Return To The Octagon Would Do Massive PPV Numbers
When it comes to polarizing characters in the UFC no one compares to Nick Diaz. Not only is he entertaining outside the octagon, he puts on a show every time he steps into the cage. The MMA world needs a Nick Diaz comeback. After a phenomenal 2020, the UFC could use Nick Diaz and the star power he brings. Plus, there’s plenty of super fights in the Welterweight division for the Stockton Gangster. Could you imagine Diaz vs Masvidal? What about Diaz vs McGregor at 170? Diaz vs GSP 2? There’s so many options! Obviously the money has to be right and Nick deserves to be paid what he’s worth, but here’s to hoping the UFC and Nick can come to an agreement and we see Nick back in the Octagon in 2021.
