Oliveira Has Every Right To Question The UFC

Charles Oliveira is not happy with the UFC’s decision to give Michael Chandler a shot at the belt should Khabib vs Gaethje fall through. The Brazilian MMA star is 29-8-1 and is currently riding a 7 fight win streak. Here’s why Oliveira has every right to be upset with the UFC for skipping over him once again…

Oliveira Isn’t Leaving His Fights Up To The Judges Decision

Oliveira is one of the top contenders in the Lightweight division. Not only is he riding a seven fight win streak, he’s finished all seven of his fights. Five have ended via submission and two via TKO victory. He hasn’t faced light competition either with recent wins over Kevin Lee, Jared Gordon, and David Teymur. Sure, the Lightweight division is the most stacked division in the UFC, but to grab a fighter from Bellator to possibly fight for the title is insulting to fighters like Oliveira.

Chandler Needs To Work His Way Up To A Title Shot

Bellator is known for having phenomenal talent on their roster, but struggle with getting much attention from casual MMA fans. This is because the UFC has essentially created a monopoly and have the biggest and best fighters in the world. If Chandler really wants a shot at the belt, he needs to work his way up the ladder. Fighters like Oliveira have done their time in the octagon and have earned a possible title shot. Chandler needs to be treated like the UFC newcomer he is and earn a couple victories before being thrown right into title shot talk.

Oliveira Wants To Fight Ferguson Next To Prove His Worth

Not many call out Tony Ferguson, but Oliveira is willing to do it to prove he is the next title contender. A match up between El Cucuy and Do Bronx would not only show who is next up for the title, it would determine if Oliveira is ready for a shot at the belt with a win over Ferguson. MMA fans seem to have forgotten just how great Ferguson is just because he lost to Gaethje. Before the loss to Gaethje, Ferguson was riding a 12 fight win streak. Ferguson is the perfect test for Oliveira and he would be honored to fight El Cucuy next…

“I saw that Poirier left the Ferguson fight because of money, some negotiation, and I’d definitely fight Ferguson. It would be a great honor for me, a great fight, but it would have to be in November. I can’t train and focus on a fight and do what I’m doing now. I’m training right now, but not with the responsibility of knowing I have a fight coming it, no diet or other things while I figure out what I have to figure out.”
