“It Felt Good to Contribute”, David Perron’s Hat-Trick Propels Red Wings to Win

In a highly anticipated matchup between the Detroit Red Wings and the Pittsburgh Penguins at Little Caesars. David Perron stole the show in the third period. Perron scored a hat-trick, preventing Pittsburgh from crawling back from down 3-0 early. The Red Wings, who had been struggling as of late to find the back of the net. Having only scored nine goals in their previous six games, clearly broke out of that funk in tonight’s game. Scoring seven goals in total.

After the game, Perron shared his thoughts on his hat-trick performance, stating. “It’s nice to contribute and help out. I haven’t done it nearly enough recently, so that felt good.”

Lalonde goes LIVID

Coach Derek Lalonde challenged a Pittsburgh goal due to possible interference by Jeff Carter. Unfortunately, Lalonde lost the challenge and was ejected from the game after he confronted the referees. This left the Red Wings without their head coach for the remainder of the game, with Bob Boughner taking over behind the bench. This was Lalonde’s first time being ejected from a game. Postgame, the press was eager to hear from Lalonde, but Boughner surprised everyone by walking in and jokingly saying. “We couldn’t find the keys for Newsy, the cuffs are still on him in the back,” as he took over the postgame press conference for Lalonde. Meanwhile, Twitter had some with it.
