The Playstation 5 is set to hit shelves on November 10th, but thanks to a new Youtube video, gamers can see the ins and outs of the new console today. Sony鈥檚 mechanical design expert, Yasuhiro Ootori gave fans an in-depth look at the PS5 and showcased some new key features that will be sure to compete with the Xbox Series X.
PS5 Will Feature New Liquid Metal Cooling System
One of the most interesting pieces of hardware Sony is using to improve the Playstation 5 is their new liquid metal cooling system. During the breakdown, Ootori showcased the different ways Sony is improving their cooling process with the new console. Not only is Sony using double-sided air intake to keep the console cool, but they鈥檝e also integrated liquid metal cooling to keep the system from overheating. Sony has been working on the new upgrade for over two years. The improvement means the new console is quieter than previous models and cuts down on fan noise.
PS5 Allows Easy Access For Upgrades And Customization
What I also like about the new system is how easily it is to break down and inspect. Sure, Playstation made sure to put a disclaimer at the beginning of the video, but if certain parts were to in fact short out or break a typical gamer could easily replace the part if need be. Having access to the parts by simply removing the side panels is nice if you鈥檙e planning on upgrading storage or changing out other parts on the Playstation 5.
Another key feature is the ability to dust out the PS5 simply by vacuuming out the two holes on the side of the console. Xbox has always had their units pretty locked down, so its nice that Sony has made the slots easily accessible to keep clean. As far as getting your PS5 serviced, thanks to the new layout experts will be able to easily inspect and fix new consoles faster than ever.
Sony spent five years working on the ins and outs of the new console. The attention to detail and ease of access is proof the new console is a serious upgrade. Compared to previous models, the PS5 is in a league of its own.
