2022 has been rough for the Detroit Tigers. But let’s at least try to be positive and look back on some good moments from the 2022 season as it comes to a close.
5. Haase’s Five Hit Night

On September 7th, Tigers Catcher Eric Haase had a career game. He went 5-f0r-5 with two singles, two doubles and a homerun. It was the Tigers first five hit game since Niko Goodrum on May 19th, 2019.
4. Back-to-Back from the Rookies

Also on September 7th, the Tigers rookies showed off some magic. In the 9th inning, Kerry Carpenter and Ryan Kreidler went back-to-back to give the Tigers the lead against the Angels. It was the first pair of Tigers rookies to hit back-to-back home runs since James McCann and Jefry Marte in 2015.
3. Opening Day Dramatics

2022 started off with a bang for the Detroit Tigers. On April 8th, Javier Baez sent the crowd home happy on a controversial play that ultimately went in the Tigers favor.
2. Riley Greene’s Walk-off Homer

The Tigers rookie hit his first homerun in style. He turned on a fastball in the 9th inning of a July 2nd game against the Royals. It was the first homerun of his career.

Nothing was going to top this moment for the Detroit Tigers in 2022. While his career might be coming to end, this is a moment that will live forever in Detroit sports history.
