Tiger Woods’ son Charlie Woods looks to be next in line.
When Tiger Woods first took the PGA by storm I can remember seeing videos of him at young age practicing. It seems as if Tiger has passed the his lessons and his game down to his son, Charlie. Over the weekend the 11 year old won a US Kids Golf event in Palm City, Florida. It was a 9 hole tournament that Tiger’s Cub won by 5 strokes. Yes, 5 strokes over 9 holes. He finished with a 33 and did not have one bogey. I feel bad for the other 11 year old’s trying to come up right now. That is some intimidation!
When I was 10 years old I was on a travel ball team from Lakes Athletics Little League. We were playing in a tournament in Southfield and I was Pitching. The team we were playing had a kid named Prince Fielder on it. I can remember feeling like I was auditioning for the Detroit Tigers. Prince wen 1-3 that game. He was younger than me and playing up in age. I just remember that stress. So I’m assuming the 11 year old’s playing Tiger F’n Woods son would be nervous.
Here is what Tiger Woods had to say about his son’s game on GolfTV, “I wish I had his move, I analyze his swing all the time. I wish I could rotate like that and turn my head like that and do some of those positions, but those days are long gone, and I have to relive them through him.”
Worlds Best Caddy
In the “awwwwww” moment of the tourney we got a good look at Tiger Woods the Dad. He was Charlie’s Caddy for the tournament. I’m sure Tiger was giving him solid advice and is able to read a green or two.
What a cheat code to have! I look forward to seeing Charlie in the PGA. Who knows, Tiger could retire as his caddy.
