Kathy Ireland…. What more can I say? Growing up Sports Illustrated blessed us with unlimited Kathy Ireland photoshoots. As a young boy she played a major part in my growing up process.

How Kathy Ireland almost got me suspended from school.

I went to Walled Lake Middle School for 7th and 8th grade. I was not a great student. But Sports Illustrated used to send a daily planner from the Swimsuit Issue. So naturally it was half naked and topless (no nipple showing) women. Kathy Ireland was the cover model for this particular planner. I took it to middle school and actually used it to keep my day to day tasks in order. Apparently a 12 year old with a book of almost naked women went against some rule for Walled Lake. My teacher tried to take my planner. I stole it back and got suspended for 2 days. I’d do it aging too. So my love for Kathy started early.

In the late 80’s Early 90’s Kathy was the “It” girl. She did everything from Sports Illustrated, to Fashion Brands, to even making movies! She is one of the best sports movies of all time “Necessary Roughness”. Kathy Ireland played a kicker and her legs were the star of the show.
