During the opener of today’s doubleheader between the Cincinnati Reds and Detroit Tigers, Tyler Alexander came on in the third inning and caught fire. He mowed down the first 9 Reds batters, all via Strikeout. Impressive? He ties the AL record for consecutive strikeouts, and was one short of the major league record of 10 consecutive strikeouts recorded by Tom Seaver.

The Tigers’ however went on to lose the game 4-3, familiar face and former Tiger Nicholas Castellanos hit two home-runs and drove in three RBIs. The Tigers also lost the second game of the doubleheader 4-0, tough day at the ballpark but at least Tyler Alexander gave Tigers fans something to cheer for.
