Ranking the Top 15 Fantasy Football TE’s for the 2020 NFL Season.
With the news coming out today of Travis Kelce’s new deal (4 years, $57 Million). Plus, the news of George Kittle setting a NFL record contract for TE’s (5 years, $75 Million). We figured what better day to release out Top 15 Fantasy Football TE, PPR rankings. Lets begin!
1. George Kittle SF
The San Fansisco 49’ers are paying George Kittle like the beat TE in the NFL, so who are we to question Jon Lynch? Kittle is a beast. He played through a injury in 2019 and still had a monster year. The 49’ers added Brandon Aiyuk to the offense, but Kittle remains the first and best option. You cant go wrong taking him as the first TE off the board.
2. Travis Kelce KC
He is #1 in a lot of rankings for good reason. Coming off a Super Bowl Season and 4 straight 1000 yard seasons Kelce is about as consistent as you can get. Patrick Mahomes has a brand new shiny toy in CEH (our top Rookie Dynasty Pick) and a full year of Tyreek Hill might take away a few targets. That is why I have him at #2 in my rankings.
3. Mark Andrews BAL
MANNNNNNN- Drewwwws, as my buddy Anson likes to call him, showed hes is elite last year. Lamar Jackson loves to throw the ball to his TE’s and RB’s, especially in the red zone. Look for another solid year of production out of this freak of a human.
4. Tyler Higbee LA
I love the way Higbee ended the season last year. I fully expect that to carry over into the 2020 NFL Season. 55 targets in the final 5 games! Even on a conservative estimate he will see over 100 this season. Worth a gamble to win a league.
5. Zach Ertz PHI
Im fading on Ertz. I actually traded him win my dynasty league for Antonio Gibson, who I love! Either way, with Miles Sanders coming into his own, Jalen Reagor helping spread the D, and Dallas Godert coming on strong, I just don’t see enough balls for Ertz to have his typical Top 2-3 season. That doesn’t mean he wont be a solid starter. He is still a solid TE for any fantasy team.
6. Darren Waller LV
Waller showed all the potential in the world last year. To me, the biggest thing holding him back is the inconsistent QB play on the Raiders. Jason Whitten being added doesn’t help his cause and The Raiders promising to make Josh Jacobs a bigger part of the passing game will hurt. If he get hot though, he could be a Top 2 guy.
7. Jared Cook NO
Drew Brees is losing arm strength even as I write this. That means more mid and short range passing. Cook will be the the guy catching a lot of those balls. I’m a little shy with the Saints drafting Adam Trautman. They will want to get him on the field. But Cook will be the clear #1 going into the season.
8. Evan Engram NYG
Engram is an enigma to me. When on the field he is great. But missing 13 games in 2 year makes him kinda hard to rely on. Availability is the most important ability. Go for the upside but be aware of the injury’s.
9. Hayden Hurst ATL
Give me ATL offense all day! The Falcons needed a TE and Hurst is filling the role. I’m not saying hes the best TE, I’m saying he has a great opportunity. I could put up 300 yrd and 2 TDs as a Falcons TE. This guy should be able to do A LOT more.
10. Henry Hunter LAC
I’ve seen him as high as #4 in some rankings and as low as #20 in other rankings. Unlike Hurst, above, he has the talent but not a clear path. Tyrod Taylor hasn’t proven to be elite by any means. If the Chargers switch QB’s Mid-season and go with Justin Herbert that will be another question mark. Buy cautiously.
11. TJ Hockensen DET
Through one game last yeah Hock was the best TE in the NFL. Then the rest of the season happened. He’s a Top 10 pick so I’m not giving up on him yet. Hopefully with a fully year of Stafford, Hockensen can take the jump to Fantasy Starter week-in and week-out. I like him at 11 in my Top 15.
12. Austin Hooper CLE
I’ve seen Hooper as high as 5. Speaking of high, what ever those “experts” were smoking must have been GREAT! Hooper is good, no doubt about it. But think of all the mouths to feed in Cleveland! Odell‘s mouth is enough for everyone! Add the fact that the Browns drafted Harrison Bryant in the 4th round of the NFL Draft, I see Hooper as a fringe starter.
13. Rob Gronkowski TB
What Gronk will we get? Can he possibly be the Gronk of old? If you’re taking him as your back up TE then you are smart. Anything before that is a major risk. There is upside, but not enough for me to risk him as my day 1 starter.
14. Jack Doyle IND
Frank Reich’s offense favors TE’s and so does Phillip Rivers. I can see this working out quite well for the Colts and Jack Doyle. Indy could be a fun team to watch this year. With Jonathan Taylor behind, arguably, the best O-Line in football, the middle may be wide open!
15. Noah Fant DEN
I’ve heard people question Fant this year because of the additions of Melvin Gordon, Jerry Judy and KJ Hamler. I think this will help him slightly. Now the defense has to worry about covering the whole field. That leaves the middle to Fant. Great pick in The Top 15 if you can get him there. He should be higher in the rankings.
