If you missed UFC Fight Night: Moraes vs. Sandhagen you missed one of the best cards of the year. From top to bottom the card delivered with not only close match ups but a showcase of great knockouts including the knock out of the year. UFC PPV cards are usually stacked with well known fighters, but these fight night cards have been delivering lately. I honestly think it has something to do with fighting with no fans. It puts more pressure on MMA fighters to deliver finishes and dominate fights, plus hearing every single strike thrown is a plus for fans.

Buckley With The Knock Out Of The Year

Joaquin Buckley is now $50,000 richer thanks to his KO of the year victory at UFC Fight Night 179. After losing to Kevin Holland in his UFC debut, Buckley turned around the loss with a spectacular knock out finish of previously undefeated fighter Impa Kasanganay.

Dricus du Plessis Makes Quick Work Of Markus Perez

UFC newcomer Dricus du Plessis made quite the impression in his debut as he knocked out Markus Perez in the very first round. Plessis is now 15-2 in his MMA career with 6 wins by knockout and 9 by submission. It will be interesting to see who the UFC decides to pair Plessis up with next.

The Sandman Is A Problem For The UFC Bantamweight Division

Cory “The Sandman” Sandhagen just made it a little bit harder for the UFC to decide who is next for UFC Bantamweight champ Peter Yan. After demolishing Marlon Moraes with a spinning head kick on Saturday night, Sandhagen is now in the title shot picture. With a MMA record of 13-2, Sandhagen’s recent loss comes from Aljamain Sterling. Sterling is in talks to fight Peter Yan for the title. I’d love to see a match up between Sandhangen and Sterling for a title eliminator fight.
