Sean Brady The Next Great One?

Welterweight contender Sean Brady (13-0-0) is only two fights into his UFC career. All signs point to Brady being the next big thing for the stacked division. Brady submitted Christian Aguilera (14-6-0) with a nasty guillotine choke on Saturday night. Keeping his undefeated streak intact.

Brady entered the fight as the biggest betting favorite on the card. After seeing how he dominated Aguilera from start to finish, I think it’s time for Brady to move up in competition. Sure, he’s only had two fights in the UFC. However, Aguilera is no slouch and it was a great test for Brady.

Hype trains come and go in UFC. Some fighters get set up too early for big challenges in their division and crumble. Others rise to the top to take over the sport. For example, Sean O’Malley is a hype train that came to a screeching halt thanks to Marlon Chito Vera back at UFC 252. I think Brady is a different breed though. Brady has broken the UFC jitters and has shown he can go all 15 minutes. Finishing the fight in such a dominant fashion is enough to convince me that he deserves someone in the top 15.

Whats Next?

I’d love to see a Sean Brady vs Anthony Pettis next to really see if Brady is the next big thing.
