UFC’s Plan To Bring In New Blood And Flush Out Veteran Fighters

Dana White’s announcement that the UFC plans to cut 60+ fighters shouldn’t be too much of a shock. Sure, the organization is putting on events, but the world is still going through a global pandemic. Nothing is safe. When Dana continues to sign new fighters with DWCS there has to be a balance to get rid of the old and bring in the new. Here’s what White had to say Saturday night regarding the cuts…

We’re gonna go through some serious cuts here at the end of the year. Probably going to have 60 cuts here before the end of the year. Our roster is very inflated right now. We’re just literally starting to go through the list and he (Romero) is 44, he’s lost four of his last five. These are the tough decisions you’ve got to make.

Dana White

It’s never easy to let someone go when you’re a boss, but this was all bound to happen considering how screwed up 2020 has been. Dana White will never admit these are considered “budget cuts” but that is exactly what this is. Diego Sanchez, Mike Perry, and Donald Cerrone should be worried. Although the UFC has yet to announce any more names, I can only assume those three will be cut.
