Las Vegas, NV – The Detroit Pistons ending Chaz Lanier’s summer league might be the only way to stop him in Las Vegas. No one can’t stop Chaz Lanier. A night after scoring 25 points in a win, he poured in 18 more to start the first half versus the Knicks.

He showcased ability to score off the dribble in addition to cashing in on catch and shoot opportunities. He finished with 24 points and continued the refrain “these are shots that I practice all the time.”

The Detroit Pistons 2nd round pick from a year ago has a unique skillset and ability that should flawlessly mesh. While his rookie season saw great highs with the Motor City Cruise, the Pistons G-League affiliate, he never got the same opportunities with the Pistons.

There were spurts that proved he could be capable of handling more, but nothing is given on a team Trajan Langdon has continued to improve.

But that wont stop Lanier’s fight for more.

“I just want to come out and be aggressive to do what I have to for the team,” Lanier Said

“As a shooter you take the looks that are given to you by the defense. You have to find that balance because as a shooter you’re going to take some bad shots.”

There haven’t been many bad shots for him here during summer league, but it’s what he does to continue improving with each opportunity he gets this offseason.

Ebuka Okorie finished the game with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal and a block to round out another game where he stuffed the stat sheet.

His ability to find shooters and facilitate even with pressure are sure to compliment Pistons needs right away.

The Pistons had opportunities to win after taking control in the first half, but ultimately couldn’t maintain the same offensive intensity as the Knicks took over.
