Justin Verlander Was Must See TV in Detroit One Last TIme

Justin Verlander wasn’t the only person to get choked up after he pitched the final ball of his career.

I did too.

The dad came out in me when his seven-year-old daughter Genevieve came bouncing out to the mound to celebrate his final moment as a Tiger. This was the moment that really got to me. If I became a Hall-of-Fame pitcher for the Tigers this could have been seven-year-old Celine, my daughter, to celebrate with her dad.

Here is what hit me.

## It is difficult to walk away from something you love.

## Verlander gave everything he had on his final day.

## The daughter absolutely loves her dad.

This all swirled around in my mind until the scene caused me to choke up. Was I the only person to feel this way in Detroit? Probably not. 

I hope not.
